Official news about the City of Cedar Park from the City of Cedar Park

Eric Rauschuber, PE, BC.WRE named Board-Certified Water Resources Engineer of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers and Civil Engineering Certification Inc.

Eric Rauschuber, Director of Public Works and Utilities, was recently announced as a Board-Certified Water Resources Engineer (BC.WRE) of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers, a subsidiary of Civil Engineering Certification Inc., and the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The BC.WRE certification is the highest post-license certification one can attain in the water resources engineering profession, and it is an accredited program by the Council of Engineering & Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB). ASCE, established in 1852, and AAWRE have awarded less than 1,000 BC.WRE certifications. The BC.WRE demonstrates specialty expertise beyond professional licensure, strong professional ethics, mentoring, and a commitment to life-long learning and professional development.

Congratulations, Eric!

Cedar Park City Council presented a proclamation recognizing August 2025 as Emergency Management Month.

The most recent City Council meeting took place on August 14, 2025.

Highlights included:

  • City Council considered appointments to the Central Spaceport Development Corporation Board of Directors for Jana Spruce, Han Kim, and Mark Burgett. The Spaceport Development Corporation is a nonprofit entity dedicated to space infrastructure for satellites, rockets, and related technological innovation. Both organizations can nominate individuals to the Board of Directors as part of the City of Cedar Park and Williamson County’s partnership. Cedar Park City Council voted to conditionally approve the nominations, as long as the creation and bylaws of the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corp. are adopted and approved in conjunction with Williamson County.
  • City Council considered staff's recommendations for the additions in the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden for the 2025-2026 display year, after collecting submissions from the public. Each year, sculptures are selected for a one-year exhibition period. They are displayed outside of the Rec Center, and pieces selected the previous year are rotated out. View existing sculptures on the City's website.

The next regular City Council meeting is on August 28.
