Public Comment and Community Feedback
As a follow-up to the public meeting held on October 13, 2026, the City of Cedar Park has opened a 30-day comment period for Cedar Park residents to provide their comments regarding the use of Flock Automated License Plate Readers (Flock ALPRs) as a public safety tool.
Flock Automated License Plate Readers are camera systems that capture license plate information from passing vehicles on public roadways. Law enforcement agencies may use this technology to assist with criminal investigations, locate missing persons, identify stolen vehicles, and support other public safety operations.
The City recognizes the importance of balancing public safety needs with individual privacy, transparency, and responsible technology use. Community input is an important part of this conversation and will help inform discussions surrounding the use of Flock ALPR technology in Cedar Park.
