RUMOR PATROL
Events in Lakeline Park
Rumor has it that all events in Lakeline Park will have entrance fees. That's not true. With its large multipurpose pavilion and stage for the performing arts, Lakeline Park is the perfect outdoor concert venue. You'll soon be seeing a mix of free and ticketed events coming to Lakeline Park. As seen above, some events are FREE and others will have a fee to help cover the costs of bringing big acts and other expenditures for large-scale events.

ICYMI: Kudos for Creativity
Cedar Park Parks & Recreation Department scores State award for Kaleidospoke glow-in-the-dark bicycle ride event
| |
|
It's time for some bicycle horn-tootin'! Our Cedar Park Parks & Recreation Department took home the coveted Lone Star Recreation and Programming Achievement Award for its first-ever Kaleidospoke event. Kaleidospoke is a glow-in-the-dark bicycle ride. We just hosted the second-ever Kaleidospoke on March 6.
This award recognizes achievements in parks programming across the State. The City of Cedar Park’s Parks and Recreation Department competed against cities of similar size (“class 3” cities) for the award, announced at the recent Texas Recreation and Park Society Conference. Way to go, Parks & Rec!

UPCOMING EVENTS AT ELIZABETH MILBURN PARK

RUMOR PATROL
Events in Milburn Park
It's rumored that with the opening of Lakeline Park, the City is moving all events from Milburn Park to Lakeline Park.
That's not accurate. The City still plans to host events in Milburn Park, too! The Spring Movie in the Park and the July 4 Celebration are just a couple of upcoming events being held in Milburn Park!
| |

Speak! Now, a few words about parks etiquette from our honorary spokesdogs Kodiak and Whisp:
"Mind your manners in our parks, please!"
| |
|
We ❤️ dogs in Cedar Park. We really do! They're welcome in our parks - but we remind you of the following parks rules pertaining to pets and people, alike:
-
All pets must be leashed in our parks per City ordinance - only exception: Cedar Bark Park dog park at Veterans Memorial Park, 2525 West New Hope Dr.
- Regardless of location, pet owners are responsible for the actions of their pets
- Please clean up after your pets in our park
-
As summer nears and the weather heats up, be mindful of algae that can develop in lakes and ponds - it could be toxic and fatal to dogs
-
Humans are prohibited from swimming in our park lakes and ponds and should use extreme caution with their pets near water
-
No motorized vehicles allowed on parks trails, fields, cave preserves or undeveloped parkland
Hosting an event in a park? If your event has any of the following, you must complete a Special Use in Parks application and obtain approval, regardless of the park location:
- Charging a fee for entry to the event
- Inviting the general public to the event (not private, such as a birthday party)
- Requiring the park, or portions of the park, to be closed to the public
- Having amplified sound
- Having an inflatable
- Selling food or beverages
A note about the two dogs pictured here, Kodiak and Whisp: They're trainees for Canine Companions - an organization that trains service dogs. (Kodiak was released from advanced training because he likes to "speak" a little too much!) A big Cedar Park shout-out to their trainer Marilee Catalano for sharing this photo, leashing and cleaning up after these pups in our parks and training them be of service to others.

After all, Park is in our name!
Learn more about Cedar Park's history as an actual park
| | |
|
Why are we bringing you all of this fantastic Cedar Park Parks and Recreation information in this special edition? It's because we take parks to heart in Cedar Park. In fact, Cedar Park is named for an actual park that was a rail stop in the late 1800s and was incorporated as a City in 1973. True to its namesake, Cedar Park now features 46 City-maintained parks within about 1,000 acres of City-owned parkland, along with 34 miles of trails. The City marked its 50th year as an incorporated City on February 24, 2023 - and we're celebrating all year long. Learn more at cedarparktexas.gov/50th.
