Cedar Park City Council Adopts FY 2026 Budget: Lower Tax Rate, Stronger Services

On September 11, 2025, the Cedar Park City Council unanimously adopted the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget, a $215.2 million plan that reflects our commitment to public safety, infrastructure, and resident priorities, all while lowering the property tax rate.

The new budget reduces the City’s tax rate to $0.36 per $100 of valuation, while continuing to invest in core services like police, fire, parks, mobility, and water infrastructure.

Key Highlights:

  • Tax Rate: $0.36 for FY 2026
  • Public Safety: New firefighters, police officers, and support staff added
  • Mobility & Infrastructure: Continued prioritization of connectivity, utility, road, parks, and pathway improvements
  • Fiscal Responsibility: $2.25 million allocated for early debt payoff, continuing strong financial stewardship
  • Livability & Economic Growth: Strategic investments in recreational amenities, redevelopment and enhancements, as well as arts and cultural expansions

The FY 2026 Budget supports 592 full-time employees and reflects the City's theme of "Stewardship in Action", continuing to prioritize efficient service delivery and long-term sustainability.
