Bond Advisory Task Force presents final report
City Council received the Bond Advisory Task Force's Final Report and Recommendations on January 13, 2022. The BATF is recommending for Council consideration a new General Obligation Bond Program in three separate categories: Transportation, Parks and Recreation and Public Safety. Based on the recommendations in the report, City Council could decide whether to call a future bond election. The Mayor and City Council thanks the Bond Advisory Task Force Members for their months-long efforts:

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Closures

A reminder that City offices and facilitiesincluding the Recreation Center and Library — will be closed Monday, January 17, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Trash and recycling remain on schedule.

Brushy Creek North Fork Trail Public Information Meeting
The City of Cedar Park will host the Brushy Creek North Fork Trail Public Information Meeting on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Cedar Park Recreation Center, 1435 Main Street. There will be a brief presentation at 7 and panel question-and-answer at 7:15.

Cedar Bark Park hours changing for "dog duty"
Dog Park now closed until 3 on Tuesdays, until 11 on Fridays
In addition to being closed until 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, the Cedar Bark Park will also be closed on Friday mornings until 11 for needed additional maintenance on wash stations and to clear the Cedar Bark Park's receptacles of trash and, ah-hem, dog debris. To recap, the new hours are:

  • Sunday-Monday-Wednesday-Thursday-Saturday: dawn to dusk
  • Tuesday: 3 p.m. to dusk
  • Friday: 11 a.m. to dusk

The January 13, 2022 Regular Scheduled City Council Meeting was in a hybrid in-person/virtual meeting format, with some City staff and some members of the public participating in a video conference call, that was streamed and broadcast live on our web and television channels.

Highlights included:
  • Granting of utility easement to PEC for electric infrastructure to be located within Lakeline Park
  • Approval of City Hall and Municipal Court Renovations construction agreement
  • Reappointment of Council Member Heather Jefts as voting member of Capital Area Council of Governments Central Texas Clean Air Coalition
