Police launch new online reporting system
Police have launched a new online reporting system to make it easier for community members to create and file reports of non-violent crimes, such as theft, fraud, and other property crimes.

To file a report online:

From there, you can view a list of offenses Police can currently accept through the online tool. For all other crimes, crimes-in-progress and/or any life-threatening situation, please continue to use 9-1-1.
¡Hijole! It's hotter than a Carolina Reaper out there!
This constant heat is a whole new level of ridiculousness. If you must be out in it:

  • Gulp water like you just bit into a really hot pepper
  • Take breaks & stay in shade
  • Check on neighbors – especially the elderly & disabled
  • Never leave kids & pets in vehicles

“Relief” is on the way: a “cool” 98 degrees is forecast for Monday!
Let's talk summertime water use
First, a big shout-out to Cedar Park water customers for following your two-designated-days-per-week outdoor watering schedules! Each year, outdoor irrigation is the single biggest source of water waste. It's especially true this season, with these 100 degrees-plus days we've been enduring.

Please keep up the good work. If you have an automatic irrigation system, check it. Make sure it's functioning optimally. If you're not sure, it would probably be a cost-efficient move to call in a professional.
Did you know ...

  • Hand-held-hose-watering is the most effective way to irrigate and is allowed any day or time
  • Early morning & evenings are best
  • Car washing is allowed, but
  • If you do it yourself, bucket washing then hose rinsing is best
  • Automated/drive-thru car washes recycle water
  • You can report water waste - residential and commercial - here
  • The customer may not be aware of the waste and we can inform them
Automatic irrigation and hose-end sprinklers:
  • Odd residential addresses (ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9) water Wednesdays and Saturdays

  • Even residential addresses (ending in 2, 4, 6, 8 or 0) water Thursdays and Sundays

  • Commercial addresses (including HOA common areas) water Tuesdays and Fridays

  • Irrigation hours: before 10 a.m. and after 7 p.m.

Our digital water metering portal allows you to see your water usage in near-real-time, detect leaks, and set alerts. Seeing is believing - and it could ultimately help you conserve and save money!
Pause ... and think about their paws!
If you must walk your fur babies in this atrocious heat:

Walk them in early morning or late evening when temperatures are coolest

Walk them in grass if possible, avoiding concrete/asphalt

If you walk them on concrete/asphalt, check the surface temperature first

Consider investing in dog shoes - worth the reward in dog kisses … and no crazy vet bills!
