Santa's Sleigh Selfies happening now through January 3!
Bring your family, some snacks and your camera to Heritage Oak Park and snap some socially distanced, holiday greeting card-worthy shots in front of our beautiful Heritage Oak Tree at Quest Parkway across from the Police Department.

FREE! Bring your holiday tree for recycling on January 9, 2021 in the Recreation Center parking lot. We’ll be handing out free tree saplings on a first come, first served basis. Please remove all decorations, ornaments and stands from your tree.

Don't have time to drop off? You can have Boy Scout Troop 233 pick up your tree and bring it to the recycling center for you!

  • If pickup day is on December 25 or January 1 it slides one day, including to Saturday. Example: if your normal pickup day is Friday it will slide to Saturday.
  • Monday-Thursday pickups are not affected.
  • BONUS! Extra week of recycling December 28-January 2. All houses will receive recycling pickup this week.

All City offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday.

This includes the Recreation Center and Library.

See Holiday trash and recycling schedule updates above.

'Tis the Season for Buying!

Even if you're shopping online, remember to Buy Cedar Park. Even shopping at big chains like Target, Amazon, Costco or Walmart can help. If the retailer has a presence in Texas, the City where the recipient mailing address is located receives the tax dollars.

Williamson County just entered into a burn ban this week and Travis County has been under a burn Ban since mid-November.

While outdoor burning is prohibited in the City limits of Cedar Park, the bans serve as a reminder of just how dry conditions are. With this in mind, we’d like to remind you:
No Fireworks
Before you hit the fireworks stands that open this weekend, know that it is illegal to possess or use fireworks in the City of Cedar Park, and within 5,000 ft. (just under a mile) of the City limits without a special permit. You may not be aware that the Cedar Park Fire Department serves several areas of Travis and Williamson Counties that are not part of the City but are part of our service area. Because of the danger that fireworks present, the City of Cedar Park has a zero tolerance policy, meaning officers must issue citations. The fine, including court costs, adds up to $189 (ouch!). If you would like to know exactly where fireworks are allowed, Williamson County has created this nifty fireworks map.
Care and caution at home
A reminder to be extremely vigilant about preventing house fires this season. At this time of year, we see more people cooking indoors and outdoors, heating their homes and patio areas and decorating with holiday lights. One of the most common causes of fires? Unattended cooking. If you must leave the kitchen, wear an apron or carry an oven mitt as a reminder you have something cooking. Last, be sure to water that fresh-cut holiday tree! Let’s have a fun, festive and fire-free holiday season, Cedar Park!
Lock Your Car Doors
There have been several vehicle burglaries reported to the Cedar Park Police Department. In most instances the car was left unlocked. In one case, a driver even left their keys inside!

PLEASE LOCK YOU CAR DOORS AND TAKE ANY VALUABLES INSIDE.

Many thieves are just looking for an easy opportunity. Don't give them one.
Lock your doors. Every day and night. Make it a habit!
'Tis the Season for Online Shopping & Porch Pirates
Just because you're working from home doesn't mean packages won't get stolen—it can happen in an instant.
