Official news about the City of Cedar Park from the City of Cedar Park.
Feelin' HOT-HOT-HOT
Please remember to check on people and pets during dangerously high temperatures
In case you haven't noticed, it's so hot you can fry an egg on the sidewalk!

All joking aside, the National Weather Service - Austin/San Antonio TX has issued a Heat Advisory with dangerously hot temperatures right around the 100-degree mark, trending into next week.

Stay indoors, if possible. If you must be outdoors, drink plenty of water, protect yourself from the sun's harmful rays and take frequent breaks. Be sure to check on your neighbors - especially the elderly and those with special needs. Please also bring in your pets if at all possible, and make sure everyone - whether people or pets - has plenty of cool water to drink.
The City of Cedar Park remains under Stage Two/two-designated-days-per-week outdoor watering restrictions
This may seem counter-intuitive, but this heat wave is a perfect opportunity to save water by adhering to your twice-per-week watering schedule for automatic irrigation and hose-end sprinkler watering:

  • Odd addresses water on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Even addresses water on Thursdays and Sundays
  • Commercial addresses water Tuesdays and Fridays
  • Watering hours are before 10 a.m. and after 7 p.m. - helpful hint: the cooler it is, the less water will evaporate while you're watering!
  • Remember: hand-watering and drip irrigation is allowed at any time under Stage Two.

If you haven't done so already, sign up for our free digital water meter portal. You can see your actual water usage in near-real-time, set alerts, detect leaks and more! Click here for more details on All Things Water Thrifty!
