An "eggciting" turnout for Eggstravaganza last weekend!

What a great time we had with you all at our annual Eggstravaganza egg hunt last Sunday!

We estimate between 8,000 and 10,000 people descended on Elizabeth Milburn Park to join in the fun!

We did things a little differently this year, with multiple egg hunts at different start times. We are especially "hop-py" to report no child walked away empty-handed!
Best spots for bluebonnets shots in Cedar Park
The above photo was taken the week of April 4, 2022, on the north shore of Brushy Creek Lake at Brushy Creek Lake Park, 3300 Brushy Creek Rd. in Cedar Park. Bluebonnet blooms typically last through mid-to-late April, so hurry!

This spring’s warmer, windier and drier weather conditions have “messed with Texas” bluebonnets in some areas this year, so it’s best to know before you go to take photos in your favorite spots in Cedar Park.

Here are a just a few of our recommendations of where to get your picture-perfect bluebonnet shots this year in Cedar Park:

• Brushy Creek Lake Park (3300 Brushy Creek Rd., along trail, just north of the lake)
• Brushy Creek Sports Park (2310 Brushy Creek Rd., near entrance – please park in parking lot)
• Heritage Park (1100 Heritage Park Dr.)
• Retention facility next to Sagebrook Nursing Home (901 Discovery Blvd.)

For safety’s sake, we encourage everyone to simply enjoy the views of our many roadside patches of bluebonnets. For your photos, please take advantage of our parks and more pedestrian-friendly areas. And remember – bluebonnets and other tall flowers and grasses play host to a variety of wildlife so please watch where you step. Happy picture-snapping!
Library and Rec Center closures this Sunday
