SUMMER 2020 AT THE SENIOR CENTER

Tuesdays at the Mountain View Senior Center were filled with lots of donations and distribution of items. The Community Services Agency’s Senior Nutrition Program continued the drive through lunch program, serving approximately 875 lunches weekly. Homemade cloth masks and puzzles were donated at the front door of the Senior Center every Tuesday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. The masks were sanitized by staff. Through the summer, hundreds of homemade masks were received and distributed through the Senior Nutrition Program. On Tuesday afternoons, the puzzle distribution took place from 1 – 4 p.m. Over 25 jigsaw puzzles were provided to patrons. We greatly appreciate the support from the community and look forward to continuing these programs throughout the fall!

Virtual workshops on Zoom were also scheduled throughout the summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 p.m. Workshops included topics such as Understanding Alzheimer’s & Dementia, Cyber Security, and Facebook Safety for Seniors. We’re looking forward to continuing to offer new virtual workshops through the fall as well.
