The Clinic Staff Receives Continuing Education
July 1, 2019
||The clinic staff was blessed to receive training from Kimberly Paris.
Due to the economic and political situation in Haiti, medical professionals rarely have the opportunity to receive continuing education as is common practice in more developed countries. Such education is not offered on a regular basis in Haiti. Even if a professional can receive a visa to travel overseas for education, there's the economic consideration. That makes it virtually impossible to receive training after degree completion.
What's the solution? If the staff cannot come to us, we must take training to them! The staff has been asking us for a long time to bring someone to Haiti to train them. In June, we were able to hold our first training session, thanks to Kimberly Paris, MSN, FNP-BC. Kimberly was willing to give up several days of her time to travel to Haiti and hold two training sessions for the medical and administrative staff. The topics covered included clinic best practices and family care. We are grateful that Kimberly is interested in engaging with clinic staff in the long term, to help them improve the care they give to their patients.
If you are a medical professional who would also like to offer training to our staff, please get in touch with us at
