CHAMBER UPDATES | MARCH, 30 2022
Chamber Members-

As you've come to see in my newsletter opening over the last couple of years, I try to impart some story or anecdote that may or may touch you in some meaningful way. After looking at the length and breadth of all the programs available through the chamber this month, it gave me pause this morning to say, "Dave, keep it brief".

My theme was going to focus on Earth Day which is on April 22nd and Arbor Day is on 29th and ask that you give consideration to the Team Up to Green Up information below.

As brief reminders:
  • You can also make a difference through the efforts of our chamber member Keep Cincinnati Beautiful
  • The www.TeamUpToGreenUp.org commercial green campaign and Colerain Township and their residential Clean Up Colerain exist to make our community a better place to live and work. However, an even better approach would be to not have waste blowing litter into parkways and property.
  • Check out the banners of the two logos (green & blue) on the decorative light poles are at the Veteran's corner (Colerain & Springdale) and around the south side of that intersection as we try to increase awareness.
  • You, your family, your organization, or a small group can make a difference by Adopting a Block or contributing to the Street Trees Program across the Colerain community.
  • We have increased the awareness about commercial recycling and will help you find the right resources if your organization would like to do more of that. Increased awareness is terrific, but actions speak louder than words.

Please know that we have SO MANY small group initiatives and programs in place for you to plug into; these are for YOUR benefit. We hope you can take some time to make a new business friend or find a way to increase your organization's visibility by taking advantage of the various marketing opportunities. If someone asks, my hope is that you can tell them that the Colerain Chamber's core focus is: to Connect with others, Support one another, and Celebrate together across Colerain to make a difference.

Happy Arbor Day and Earth Day to you!

Dave

TEAM UP TO GREEN UP
STREET TREES!

Trees make communities healthier!

They remove up to 60% of street-level air pollution and are one of the most effective ways to reduce heat, which causes more injury and death in the US than all other natural disasters combined.

Trees also help slow traffic, ensure safe and walkable streets, and reduce noise pollution. On top of all those benefits, they also beautify communities!

Team Up to Green Up will work to identify opportunities for a tree canopy program that plants trees where we need them most in Colerain.

Your donation can make a huge impact on our program and can help elevate our community!
ADOPT A BLOCK!

Volunteer to preserve beautification and maintain cleanliness on a Colerain Township street or block by picking up litter.

Attractive, maintained neighborhoods are littered less and research shows they are usually safer and more attractive for new businesses and new residents.
We have 60 segments of commercial roads identified in the Adopt-a-Block program.

⚾ JULY 3RD- VINTAGE BASEBALL GAME
Cincinnati Redstockings VS. The Colerain Chamber All-Stars

STAY TUNED FOR MORE DETAILS!

What did professional baseball look like in Cincinnati in 1869? Brothers George and Harry Wright ruled the ball field, leading the 1869 Red Stockings to an undefeated season that spanned the United States. Players wore no gloves, and the uniforms and rules of the game were a bit different from what you'll see at Great American Ball Park today.

The Reds Hall of Fame and Museum's 1869 Red Stockings vintage baseball team endeavors to bring this history to life through various events and activities that further its mission, expose that history and vintage baseball to new audiences, and bring attention to the Reds Hall of Fame, while engaging Reds fans everywhere.
