2025 - A Team Effort
If we had to choose three words to describe 2025, those words would be “growth, grassroots, and gratitude”.
Growth - Two new Outdoor Recreation Collaboratives were established, bringing the total number of Outdoor Recreation Collaboratives in the state to ten, up from eight a year ago. We now have 4 staff members dedicated to supporting and facilitating these groups. From helping communities discover areas of opportunity to aligning project champions with funding options, our Collaboratives continue to connect Wyoming’s people with resources needed to take their projects from ideas to completion.
Grassroots - These grassroots efforts empower communities to drive meaningful and sustainable outdoor recreation development across the state. The Collaborative meetings are community driven, and all agendas are set by local Steering Committees. Thus, the ideas that are generated and discussed during these meetings can receive a vote for support showing that they are wanted by the community, not just a single interest group.
Gratitude - With the adoption of the Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Trust Fund (House Bill 0067), the Trust Fund’s Board of Directors are working to get funding on the ground for projects in 2026. The Wyoming Office of Outdoor Recreation could not be more thankful and honored to help offer this funding to Wyoming communities. It is with our deepest gratitude that we are able to continue this work to help make our state not only an unforgettable place to visit, but also to keep Wyoming values in mind while increasing the quality of life that we all love.
This progress would not be possible without each of you and your continued dedication, hard work, and vision. We look forward to continuing these efforts in 2026.
Thank you!
