COLLABORATIVE STUDENT NETWORK
MAKES A BIG IMPACT IN YEAR ONE!
When the Babson Collaborative Student Network (BCSN) was established in January 2021 to bring students together for networking, event planning, cross-cultural exchange, we never could have anticipated that the connections made would lead to a global rescue mission, but they did just that!

In August, when Kabul, Afghanistan fell to the Taliban, the BCSN community reached out to fellow ambassadors from the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) to express their concern. Once hearing the plight of the Afghan students first hand, four ambassadors from Universidad del Desarrollo (UDD) in Chile took action. They were not discouraged by the enormity of the crisis. They acted entrepreneurially, identifying small immediate steps they could take using whom and what they knew. They adapted as circumstances changed and they enrolled others to quickly create a multi-national coalition to help their peer. And ultimately, they successfully executed a rescue mission to resettle AUAF student, Fatema Jalaly safely in Santiago, Chile where she is trying to start anew.

BCSN is comprised of over 60 students at 16 member schools in 12 countries. Programs and events planned by BCSN ambassadors have explored creative leadership in chaos, start-up scaling, women in entrepreneurship, YCombinator and more. If your school does not appear in the BSCN directory, contact Jamie for details on how to get involved.

Wednesday, December 8, 2021
9:00 - 10:00AM ET (compare time zones here)

COVID-19 has caused a significant increase in healthcare startups and an interest from students in their desire to make an impact. Recent evidence suggests healthcare exhibits factors including high intangibility, complexity, and uncertainty that leads to asymmetry in knowledge between providers, investors, entrepreneurs, patients, and communities. In this session, Babson's Wiljeana Glover will provide definitions of healthcare entrepreneurship and discuss practical tips on how to teach it, along with stories of success and failure.

Audience: Educators
Associate Professor,
Stephen C. and Carmella R. Kletjian Foundation Distinguished Professor of Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship
