A Message from Pastor Scott

Pastor Matt is back this Sunday after being on Sabbatical this summer. Welcome back Matt! We will also be honoring Pastor Steve Klump for his 18-months of service to us as our visitation pastor. Steve will be moving back to the green pastures of full retirement. Thank you, Steve, for a job well done! Then next Tuesday, Scott Longacre comes on staff as our new Missional Case Worker and Congregational Care Coordinator. Scott will be doing much of what Ted and Steve did, but we have expanded his role to address more specific situations when people need help connecting to community resources. These could include elder and medical care, counseling, financial assistance, housing, and other situations as they arise. We have been talking about the need for such a position for quite some time and are excited to finally have someone step into this role. Welcome Scott!

This Sunday we continue our series on Made One: Reconciliation with Christ. We will look at the book of Jonah, and how the reconciling work of God extends beyond the boundaries and borders that we often put up. Jonah will run away from this important work, but God will not let Jonah’s obstinance undermine His reconciling work.

Come and be a part of God’s reconciling community as we worship the God who is “The compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.” Exodus 34:6

Grace and Peace,

Scott

Read Jonah chapter 1 (or all 4 chapters) in preparation for worship.
