A Message from Pastor Scott

This week we are beginning a summer sermon series that we are calling “Made One: A Series on Reconciliation with Christ.” We will spend all summer looking at various Bible stories that demonstrate how God redeems and reconciles people to Himself. This week we welcome our first guest preacher: Rev. Brian Craker. Brian served as a pastor on our staff and was the Men’s Retreat speaker this year. He is currently serving as the Transitional Executive Presbyter of Presbytery of the Cascades. Brian is a great storyteller and will preach and story-tell about Jacob and Esau (Genesis 25-35). We have a great line-up of guest preachers this summer which includes Ted Buck, another former CPC pastor, John Nichols, Chaplain at Open House Ministries, and Tammy Dunahoo, Executive Dean of Portland Seminary.

Pastor Matt and I believe that it is good for other voices besides ours to be heard from the pulpit. So you will get a chance to hear some really good preaching from people of different backgrounds and with different styles. But don’t just come for the preaching, come first to worship and give thanks to our God. Come to be part of the fellowship of the church, a body whose sum is greater than its parts. And come to welcome the curious who walk through our doors to see what Columbia is about. We all need each other to be a body that is flourishing, made up of people who love the Lord, care for one another, and feel called to serve in God’s mission to the world.

Grace and Peace,

Scott
