What a wonderful celebration for our graduates we had last Sunday! It was good to hear from some of them about their faith journey and the path that they are on. Last Saturday, our deacons packed over 120 boxes of food for families who are at risk (read more about this below). God continues to show up in acts of witness and service and I am so grateful to be part of a community of believers who seek to do the good work that God has given us.
This Sunday is Pentecost so be sure to wear red. We will be hearing from Jesus about what He has to say about the Spirit, who is the promised Helper/Counselor/Advocate, like Jesus himself! It is a new day for those early followers of Christ, they will no longer have Him in bodily form, they will need to learn how to follow Him with the guidance and presence of the Holy Spirit. The good thing about the Spirit is that He can be everywhere with every Christian and every gathering of Christians, all the time. The challenge is that we no longer have a physically embodied person for us to follow.
So Pentecost represents a new day in so many ways. Come and hear more as we gather to worship the Lord who calls us to follow Him in loving obedience.
Read John 14:15-27 in preparation for worship.
Grace and Peace,
Scott
