LCC Volunteer Opportunities

LCC's Community Meal

We will be offering our monthly

Community Meal

Thursday, December 7

Our November community meal was prepared, assembled and distributed on Thursday, November 2. We served our macaroni and cheese casserole with ground turkey, corn, and peas. We added fruit cups, and brownies were made by Joanne Ritschel and Vicky Smigelski. Our guest also received some Halloween candy.

Since Michael and I were out of town, Susan Walker took over the leadership and did a great job – the other volunteers were Joellen Hurley, Doug Damron, Robert Wentz, Wendy Summers, and Beth Ryan. We had 25 people attend and all 48 meals were taken.

Please feel free to contact us if you would care to join this group-we have a good time and we feel it’s a very important ministry. Peggi and Michael Mizen

Food delivery services have changed since the onset of Covid. If you have the means to donate, two local organizations that could be donated to are the Cleveland Food Bank and the Lakewood Community Service Center.

Each first Sunday of the month is our dedicated Hunger Sunday.

There are Hunger Envelopes at the back of the Sanctuary for your donation towards this LCC Ministry.

Music Makers

Would you like to share your music talents as a vocalist or instrumentalist in LCC’s worship service?

Please let us know what you’d be interested in sharing and whether you’d want piano or guitar accompaniment. Ben Malkevitch will reach out to you several weeks ahead of time to coordinate.”

UCC Webinar - You Can’t Stop Justice

A Dialogue between Rep. Justin Pearson and the Rev. Benjamin Chavis, Jr.

In this Giving Tuesday event, two prophetic leaders will join in an online conversation about the never-ending river of justice that extends from one generation to the next. The Rev. Dr. Benjamin Chavis, Jr. coined the phrase "environmental racism" and helped lead the struggle for environmental justice, while Rep. Justin Pearson went from leading a grassroots environmental justice organization to serving as a state representative who made headlines around the world for his courageous stand in calling for commonsense gun legislation. Join us on November 28th at 12 pm ET to hear from these two leaders. Register today!
