LCC's Community Meal

We will be offering our monthly

Community Meal

Thursday, March 2

Our February meal was cooked, assembled and distributed on Thursday, February 2. We served pork roast, gravy, green beans, sweet potatoes, applesauce, and brownies.

Our workers were Donna Leisinger, Susan Walker, Nancy Fraunfelder, John Kasper, Peggy Shaw, Wendy Summers, and Robert Wenz. Jen Murray donated brownies.

We had 20 people take 40 meals and the remaining eight meals were offered to our AA guests.

Food delivery services have changed since the onset of Covid. If you have the means to donate, two local organizations that could be donated to are the Cleveland Food Bank and the Lakewood Community Service Center.

Each first Sunday of the month is our dedicated Hunger Sunday.

There are Hunger Envelopes at the back of the Sanctuary for your donation towards this LCC Ministry.

Music Makers

Would you like to share your music talents as a vocalist or instrumentalist in LCC’s worship service?

Please let us know what you’d be interested in sharing and whether you’d want piano or guitar accompaniment. Ben Malkevitch will reach out to you several weeks ahead of time to coordinate.”

For the second year in a row, we are embarking on a global journey from Lakewood to Jerusalem. We will collect miles together, with the goal of "walking" approximately 7000 miles to the Holy Land.

There are many ways to contribute miles to our trip: physical exercise, spiritual practices, and relationship building (see examples below).

Report each week using paper forms, contacting the church office, or using this link.

This is a collective effort of the people of LCC and anyone who’d like to join us. Watch for progress on the WORLD MAP in the West Clifton Hallway, in our weekly emails, and in Sunday worship.

Calculate Your Miles

Physical Activity:

20 minutes of any physical activity = 1 mile

20 minutes of active household chores = 1 mile

About 2000 steps on a pedometer or step-tracker = 1 mile

Exercise that can be easily measured 1 mile = 1 mile

Spiritual Growth:

Attendance at a worship service = 3 miles

Attendance at a church meeting or activity = 3 miles

Short devotional reading (about 15 minutes) = 1 mile

Journaling, prayer, making music, other spiritual practices = 3 miles / hour

Relational Connection:

Send a note, card, or letter to a friend or family member = 3 miles

Make a phone call just to catch up = 3 miles

Caregiving for a spouse, parent, child, baby, or neighbor = 3 miles / hour
