The Comeback

Who doesn’t appreciate an inspiring comeback?

If it is a favorite sports team, then sure, that is fun. But it is our own human capacity to make a comeback after being knocked off our feet that inspires me the most. Down for the count from a snowstorm or an illness? Not for long!

The most remarkable comebacks tend to require a shift or a change in our consciousness. Many who hear the word change want to cringe, but at Unity of Dallas we embrace change as a chance to grow into a renewed sense of self. This Lenten season, we are reminded of the most remarkable comeback story of all by Jesus of Nazareth. His comeback was the catalyst for the most remarkable spiritual shift ever in humankind!

This Sunday, I will be sharing thoughts and wisdom I hold dear that helped with my own comeback.

Last week GG spoke to us about how our survival needs must be met before we as humans start acting from a space of higher consciousness. Can we relate? As the snowstorm calmed, did you remember to let go of any chaos of the mind and allow it to calm as well? Are you now asking and seeking from a place of fear and lack thus blocking your own comeback, or is your “ask” coming out of Christ-minded consciousness?

Come visit us this Sunday online or in person to learn how to explore and get the most out of your "ask”. Are you asking for a tangible solution to an intangible problem? Are you asking for something specific and then becoming upset if God does not answer your prayer? Eric Butterworth says we should work "to cultivate a consciousness that brings exactly what you need into your life and not try and plan out its entirety”.

It may sound like a big goal, but cultivating this consciousness will ultimately reveal the abundance which is already held within you as a child of God. This is the Truth – whether you feel you are on the comeback trail or not. This Sunday, let’s be willing to ask for it!

Let’s Thrive,
Rev. James
