The Comeback Part 2 - I Will Return

“There is great value in that wake up call that forces you and me to re-examine the way we are doing business. Said a little differently, adversity is a horrible thing to waste.” – Ellen Debenport

In Rev. Ellen Debenport’s book, "Hell in The Hallway, Light at The Door", the hallway is a period of transition from one spiritual point to the next. It can be full of loneliness, grief and darkness, but in its truest intention it is a place of transformation.

This Sunday we will discuss how to use the Lenten practice of release to cultivate conviction and purpose in your hallway experience. There is a reason it is called a "hallway" and not a ditch, because there IS light present even in the darkest of hallways.

As we know from the Bible, Lent is the ultimate comeback story. Join us in the celebration of Lent and be prepared to be inspired by the comeback story of world famous Nelson Mandela. As he famously said “I will return!” and so will you. It is time for you to make your own spiritual comeback!

Let’s Thrive,
Rev. James

The Comeback

Sunday Music

Guest Music Artist: You the Community!

Our Guest Artist this Sunday is YOU, our dear community, as we have another Hymn Sing Sunday!

Everyone is encouraged to sing along and get our voices ready for when we can all sing together once more.

We open the service with "What a Fellowship", acknowledge World Peace with "You Are the Face of God" after the Daily Word, and at the Offertory, we will sing the happy melodies of: "I've Got the Spirit Movin' in Me", "Confident Living" and "This Little Light of Mine".

The words will be onscreen and if you want a printed copy to use, click here.

Let's lift up our voices and send a powerful vibration of love and joy to our world!

RSVP to be included in an intimate-sized gathering this Sunday at 11 am by emailing UoDSundayService@unitydallas.org or by clicking the “Plan Your Visit” bar at www.unitydallas.org (above the logo).

We are blessed with a large Sanctuary which accommodates physical distancing. However, we ask everyone attending services in person to abide by the current Covid-19 safety protocols established by the Re-opening Task Force, including:

  • Masks are required to be worn before, after and throughout the service, especially when singing. (Please note that they need to cover your nose and mouth.)
  • To keep our Ushers safe, we have placed a collection box just outside the sanctuary for your offerings.
  •  First-floor restrooms are open with a 2-person maximum, but water fountains are not available at this time.
