WARMTH FOR WINTER
ASTEC Middle School and High School will be having a coat drive from November 25th through December 16th.

If you have a gently used black jacket or coat that you would like to donate to a scholar in need, you may drop it off at the High School or Middle School Office during normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Help us kid all our kids warm this winter!
HANDS-ON LEARNING:
THE RIGHT STUFF
Sixth grade scholars turned their stuffed animals inside out after removing the stuffing and then sewed them back together, adding or taking away elements. With this project scholars practiced their sewing skills as well as experiencing the feeling of being an artisan like the ones they have explored during their Culture Unit.
BE A HOLIDAY ANGEL
It’s time for ASTEC Holiday Angels! Most of us are fortunate to have the resources needed to enjoy the holidays, but that's not true for every family at ASTEC.

HANDS-ON LEARNING:
A NEW POINT OF VIEW
Mr. Schat’s Middle School English class has been learning about and acting out 1st, 2nd and 3rd points of view. Our Comets love hands-on learning, and so do we!
BE WEATHER AWARE!
Scholars should wear heavy coats, gloves, hats and scarves as the temperature drops. Cold weather is here. Please make sure your scholars are prepared!
WE'VE BROKEN GROUND!

YEARBOOK PICKUP
Scholars who ordered yearbooks last year can pick them up during their English classes. ASTEC graduates can pick up their yearbooks at the ASTEC High School office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
REMINDER:
DRIVE LINE CHANGES
This is a reminder that the parking lot south of the school, next to NW 23rd Street is under construction. We had hoped Shepherd Center would be finished by now, but the weather has impeded its completion.

The middle school drive line is not affected. High school drivers should park in the far southwest parking lot.

Parents who do not want to wait in the driveline must still pick up students in the far west parking lot as always. With cold weather coming, you may want to consider going through the driveline to pick up your scholar.

NEED HELP?
Families facing a difficult financial time, may contact their school counselor for a waiver for activity fees or if they are in need of school supplies. Help is available.

Parking permits are available for the 2019-2020 school year. Get yours for $10 from any Student Council member!
