New Offerings
Welcome to the 2021 – 2022 Church Year!

Art, Spirituality and Healing
with Rev. Chris Long

Although many of us had assumed by now much of the pandemic realities would be far behind us, and for some, life as normal would be in full swing. Alas, for any number of reasons, this is not yet the case. AND, in getting to know a few more of you over the last many months, art in all of its forms has and continues to be a source of great spiritual renewal and healing for any number of you.

With this in mind, for those of you who may have an hour to share in the middle of the day, let’s come together for an hour on Thursdays to check in, and share just how important art has and continues to be a source for continued healing for you!!

You are invited to join Rev Chris each Thursday from 12:00pm – 1:00pm to engage this form of spiritual practice continuing to enhance what IS possible, even now!

Please feel free to email Rev Chris at clong@ccny.org with any questions, comments or additional ideas for programming to better meet your spiritual, religious or pastoral needs

Our September/October Exhibit

The Last Picture Preparations are in progress for our new fall exhibit which will feature twenty-eight artists, past and current members of the collective, showing artwork as a tribute to Gallery35.

The Last Picture Show is Gallery35’s way of saying goodby to our space on 35th Street where we have been mounting exhibits since 2004! After showing our artwork online since the spring of 2020, we had planned this exhibit to be both a gallery re-opening—as well as a “last picture show” at our brownstone location. However, CCNY’s building redevelopment preparations have progressed more quickly than we thought and there was simply not enough time!

But the show(s) must go on! ...so we invite you to “visit” The Last Picture Show at our virtual home—on our website—where our exhibits will continue to be presented. Gallery35 is adapting but not going away, as we excitedly anticipate our new future physical gallery!

Special Opportunities

The Soap Project

Polly Francini and Jody Leight invite you to join them in taking a simple action to provide a basic creature comfort to women imprisoned in New York.

With family contact restricted because of the pandemic, the women incarcerated at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility have no alternative to the caustic lye soap provided by the prison. The Interfaith Prison Project has a program that distributes gentler soaps to inmates, and it's easy to help. Just mail bars of soap to:

The Church House
Katonah Presbyterian Church
31 Bedford Road
Katonah, NY 10536

Soaps must be in their original individual wrappers, and cannot contain any alcohol. Brands that are accepted for donation include Ivory, Dove, Cetaphil, Lever, Olay, Irish Spring, and DIal. You can also order soap from Target or Amazon. Both will take soap orders, box, and ship directly to the address above.
