August 1st and 2nd mark the ancient holiday of Lammas, In nearly every ancient culture, late summer was a time of celebration as crops are abundant, gardens and fruit trees overflowing with summer bounty. So today we reflect on how we might recognize and celebrate good things in our lives.

CoCoDa is a recipient of our Doolittle Grants. The conversation will offer us a firsthand look at the work this organization does with the people of El Salvador and Nicaragua, along with learning about the wonderful people Jim has met along the way. CoCoDA recently won the 2020 El Salvador Energy Globe Award with the Sun and Water Initiative . "This award recognizes the responsibility of human beings to be more creative and thoughtful in our care of the environment." CoCoDa and their collaborating partners are "committed to creating sustainable projects in communities where there are scarce resources and mighty dreams."

We are thrilled to welcome Rev. Chris Long as our new Assistant Minister. Rev. Chris is currently the Justice Minister at West Shore Unitarian Church in Ohio and a Visiting Professor at Starr King School for the Ministry. There will be opportunities to meet Rev. Chris when he begins his ministry with us in August.
