The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed

During the month of November, it is a long and venerable Catholic tradition to remember and pray for our beloved dead at Mass and in other prayers and rituals. You may write the names of the deceased members of your family and friends in the “Book of the Dead” that will be placed in each church or by emailing the names to info@oratorychurch.org. If you send in names for the All Souls Novena of Masses, these will be automatically placed in these books. You are also invited to bring a photo of a loved one to place on St. Joseph’s altar at Assumption or the bulletin board in the narthex at St. Boniface.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

We invite you to join us in spreading warmth and kindness through our Thanksgiving Food Drive. All food collected will be donated to Hour Children. Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Hour Children provides care and support to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women and their children in Brooklyn and Queens. The food drive will begin on Saturday, October 25 and run through Sunday, November 23. Non-perishables may be left in the rear of either church in the areas marked “Food Drive.” Click here for items being collected.

To make a cash donation, please use PushPay on the parish website and select the dropdown "Thanksgiving Food Drive Support."

Nicola Tanzi Memorial Fund

Nicola Tanzi was our cherished friend and Metrotech officer for over 20 years, who was killed in the line of duty. To honor his memory, we are raising funds to beautify the front of St. Boniface, where he dedicated himself to our community. We have already collected $625. Every contribution is appreciated and will help us celebrate Nicola’s legacy. To make a donation in honor of Nick, please use PushPay on the parish website and select the dropdown "Officer Nick Tanzi Memorial Fund."

Mass Intentions

It has been a long tradition in the Church to offer Masses for people to pray, especially for the dead, seeking God’s grace, mercy, and spiritual benefits through Christ’s sacrifice. Usually a modest donation is given for this. In the coming weeks we have several Masses with no particular intentions. If you would like to have a Mass offered for someone (living or deceased), email the parish office at info@oratorychurch.org or click here.
