The Commerce Connection
June 17th, 2019| Issue 5
My name is Gary Briggs and I am a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones here in The Colony. I have been a resident of The Colony since 1991. My wife Trisha and I have been married for 31 years in July. My son Josh and daughter Alyssa were both graduates of The Colony public schools.

I originally moved from Michigan to Texas to work for EDS. EDS was later acquired by HP, and after 26 years in the IT business, I decided that I was interested in finding something that would allow me to connect with, and serve the community, and be able to work with people one on one to help them achieve their financial goals. That change led me to Edward Jones, and from the beginning of that journey I could think of no better place to have my business than in town we had lived in for all these years. After working out of another advisors office for 2 years, I opened my own Edward Jones branch here in August 2016.

As I built my business, I looked for ways to connect with business leaders and the community. I have been a member of the chamber since 2015. I currently serve as the Chairman Elect on the chamber board after previously serving as an Ambassador and as the Ambassador President. The growth of the chamber since I joined has been phenomenal. I remember breakfast meetings of less than 10 people, but we were a persistent bunch and we always focused on what could make the chamber a better for the membership. The growth of The Colony and the vision of that original core, has led us to where we are today, a vibrant and growing chamber, and the envy of the surrounding communities.

The Chamber has been huge factor in my business’ growth and success. It creates an opportunity for every member business to connect with other businesses and their customers. It also gives us a platform to participate in the changes occurring in The Colony and an opportunity to set the tone and shape the type of community we want to do business in. Our goal as a board is to strive to find ways to provide more value back to our members. As members, your involvement will provide you benefits, but also consider what you can give back. You get out of the chamber what you put in, and we your need involvement to keep this organization growing. Please contact me if you have any questions about how the Chamber can help you.
I’m Julie Sears, a licensed health agent with US Health Advisors. I began my insurance career October 2017. I truly have a passion for helping people so this was a perfect fit for me. My husband Shawn owns a construction company and we have a 16 year old son, Ryan along with our sweet Border Collie Lexi.

We enjoy spending time with family and friends on vacation and camping. I have been an active camper with Camp Gladiator for the last 5 years. It is such an amazing group of people who strive to make a positive impact in people’s lives.
My mission is to help protect my customers from financial hardship due to unforeseen illness or injury. Simply stated, I work to find the best solution to provide peace of mind in keeping the promise of financial protection afforded by insurance coverage.

I work with individuals, families and small business to find the best coverage options to fit their wants and needs. I try to listen and understand what someone is needing and find the best option, even if it’s not something that I directly sell. In addition to Texas, I’m licensed in AZ, AR, OK, NE, TN, OH, VA, SC, NC and GA.

I would love to discuss coverage options for your business or family. Please feel free to call me directly at (469) 348-4066 or visit my site directly at https://ushagent.com/juliesears!
Hello my name is Trey Sweat. I am the owner of We Fix That MD , a cell phone and mobile device repair store.

When I was younger, I enjoyed working with my dad on anything he would let me help with. He could fix pretty much anything, and I learned everything from maintaining irrigation systems to building computers. These skills, along with the foundation he and my mother gave me in honesty, integrity, and faith have established who I am.

My beautiful bride of 12 years has blessed me with two wonderful kids. After getting my degree in business management, I trained to become certified as a level 3 master technician. In 2015 my family and I moved from East Texas to McKinney and opened We Fix That MD .

I absolutely love what I do at  We Fix That MD ! It is such a joy to help people recover lost pictures or bring a dead device back to life. T here is nothing like t he excitement on a customers face as they exclaim, “It looks brand new!” Since we have opened every day has held new exciting challenges. From phones that have been run over by bulldozers to even a phone that slipped through the crack between the elevator and the seventh floor, we have learned to never say, “we have seen it all”. We know the that the situation may differ from customer to customer, but our experience will be able to handle anything that comes our way!

We Fix That MD is very proud to have earned its reputation of honesty and integrity in the community. We had the honor of winning the Chamber of Commerce award for Best of the Best, Sole Employee Business of 2018. In honor of that and as a thank you to everyone in The Colony Chamber, we would like to offer every member a 10% discount on any screen repair through the remainder of June!

Bring your device in today to our shop, at 4897 State Hwy 12, Suite 300!

We Fix That, MD is a veteran owned business !
