Meet The New Chairman

David Peerson, and his wife Cristine, moved to The Colony in 2005. David has worked as the President of Prosperity Bank in The Colony since 2008, and Cristine has been a school teacher at Morningside Elementary School in The Colony since 2005. They have one son, Wesley, who is a graduate of The Colony High School, and is currently attending college in east Tennessee. David served on The Colony Economic Development Corporation Board from 2008 to 2017, and as VP of the LISD Education Foundation from 2009 to 2011, as Finance Chair. He currently serves on LISD Superintendents Business Advisory Board and LISD's Budget Advisory Committee. David and Cristine have also served on the TCHS Football and Baseball booster boards. David has worked in banking as a Loan Officer since 1999.

David and Cristine both grew up in Oklahoma, where they met in college at East Central University. David has a B.S. in Industrial Management, with a Minor in Computer Science. Cristine has a B.S. in both Architecture and Special Education. David graduated from Holdenville High School in 1985, and Cristine graduated from Moore High School in 1986.

David and Cristine spend their spare time being active in the community and doing outdoor activities.

Exciting Remodel Underway for

The Colony Walmart

The Colony Walmart is undergoing a $4.3 million remodel. Including new polished concrete floors, a state of the art electronic area and updated lighting systems throughout, they are leaving no area untouched! To date, they have completed a new Associates lounge and break room, and the flooring in the bakery/produce areas. With an estimated completion date of May 10th, the store will be celebrating the new look with a Grand Re-opening!

A Word from Leonard Powell,

Ambassador President

My name is Leonard Powell of TWFG Insurance. I have been a member of The Colony Chamber of Commerce since July 2017, and became an ambassador shortly thereafter. My wife, Tara, and I moved to The Colony in April of 1995, and have lived here ever since, along with our beautiful daughter, Kaili, who has always called The Colony home.

I was recently elected to the Board as the President of the Ambassadors, and I am honored to have been chosen as such. The ambassador program has been a huge part of my business success. Think of being an ambassador as networking on steroids. It has allowed me to meet with many businesses in The Colony, and get to know the wonderful people who live and work here. For 2019, we are looking to strengthen and grow the ambassador program. We are excited to watch our group grow by recruiting more ambassadors, creating a stronger Ambassador Mentoring Program for new businesses, and creating better incentives and more recognition for our ambassador members.

We are looking for ambassadors who, along with promoting their business, will help promote the Chamber and its many benefits. I feel ambassadors are the backbone, and truly the heart and soul of the Chamber. Ambassadors are positive, friendly, outgoing, and bring in a great, fun energy to all of our events. If you would like the added benefit of growing your company while making a positive impact for the Chamber, please speak with me or any of the other ambassadors.
