This Sunday we remember the awe-inspiring story of when Jesus took his friends up on a mountain and was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun and his clothes became bright as light. Such powerful spiritual experiences change us. But how will we take them with us back "down the mountain," to be faithful to God in our daily lives? Join us for Transfiguration Sunday at 8:30 and 11:00 in the sanctuary, or 9:00 in Casper Holroyd Hall. Let the light of God break in on us once again. | | |

We invite you to join us beginning February 25 at 6:30pm, for a five-week book study based on Power and Passion by Samuel Wells, which also serves as the inspiration for our Lenten sermon series. Together, we’ll walk through the gospel story by paying close attention to six unexpected people who stood near the cross—Pilate, Barabbas, Joseph of Arimathea, Mrs. Pilate, Peter, and Mary—and consider how each of them struggled with power, fear, faith, and hope.
As we read and talk together, we’ll follow the forces that led Jesus to the cross and we'll witness the surprising power revealed in his resurrection. The study will be led by Pastor David and is designed to deepen and enrich our shared Lenten journey alongside Sunday worship.

We’re partnering with the Raleigh Relief Project and Neuse River Middle School to celebrate 134 students with excellent attendance. These students will be recognized at an Attendance Hero Celebration with snacks and a drink.
This is part of our ongoing effort to support schools where a majority of students receive free and reduced-price lunch and where there is limited or no PTA support. We’re collecting individual chip bags and Capri Suns to help make this celebration a success.
Please click here to sign up to bring donations to the Fellowship Hall during Wednesday Night Dinner on February 25.
If you have any questions, please contact Jason Trice at jtrice@hbumc.org.

Psalm 46:10 Prayer
Gently close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Prepare to pray this verse in five consecutive diminishing sentences, taking a deep breath and resting in silence after each one.
Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am
Be still and know
Be still
Be
Amen.
