In the story of the prodigal son, the older brother stands just outside the celebration of his younger brother. Why can't he forgive? And what about us—will we choose to stubbornly stay outside, or will we step into the joy of God's family? Join us this Sunday as we continue our sermon series #fail: When Grace Meets Our Worst Moments. Worship at 8:30 and 11:00 in the sanctuary, or 9:00 in Casper Holroyd Hall. Together we'll discover how grace shows up after the mistake, inside the regret, and beyond the moment that feels defining.

Folks & families of all ages are invited for a dinner of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice, and fruit on Tuesday, February 17th from 5pm-6:30pm. This dinner is a fundraiser for our youth service trips. We ask that adults pay a minimum of $13 and kids $7 at registration; extra donations can be given at the door (cash, check, or Venmo). We’ll have live music and Mardi Gras mask decorating for all ages, as well! Click here to RSVP.

We invite you to join us beginning February 25 at 6:30pm, for a five-week book study based on Power and Passion by Samuel Wells, which also serves as the inspiration for our Lenten sermon series. Together, we’ll walk through the gospel story by paying close attention to six unexpected people who stood near the cross—Pilate, Barabbas, Joseph of Arimathea, Mrs. Pilate, Peter, and Mary—and consider how each of them struggled with power, fear, faith, and hope.

As we read and talk together, we’ll follow the forces that led Jesus to the cross and we'll witness the surprising power revealed in his resurrection. The study will be led by Pastor David and is designed to deepen and enrich our shared Lenten journey alongside Sunday worship.

Sign up here.

As we journey with Jesus towards the cross this Lenten season, Paul's letter to the church at Ephesus reminds us who we are in Christ and how we are called to live as Christ's disciples in the world.

Each class will include gentle yoga, intentional breathing, scripture, and Lenten blessings from Kate Bowler's book, Have a Beautiful, Terrible Day!

In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.

"Stopping is a spiritual art. It is the refuge where we drink life in. Sometimes one makes the deepest progress sitting still. It's not always the conquest that matters most, but being present in the moment and reflecting on things." Sue Monk Kidd

UPDATE FROM THE CLAYTON FAMILY:

Rick is improving every day! We're at the end of our 3rd week at Wake Med because there are no beds available in Skilled Nursing Facilities here in Raleigh or at the coast. We were able to qualify for the Bridge Therapy program here at Wake Med for one week. The goal is to then move to home health care until his knee heals enough to be weight bearing on his right foot. Thanks for all your prayers, cards, flowers and acts of kindness!! We are so grateful that all Rick's injuries can be fixed and that we have access to such excellent healthcare here at Wake Med!

Love and peace,

Joy
