This weekend, we embark on a brand-new, five-week sermon series:
Hope Has Wings.
| | | | |
Jesus told us to "consider the birds," and when we do, we discover that they have much more to teach us than we might expect. From June 14 through July 12, we’ll dive into the biblical stories of sparrows, doves, pigeons, eagles, vultures, quail, and ostriches to uncover surprising lessons about God's grace, provision, presence, and the hope that carries us through every season of life.
We created this companion meditation and reflection booklet to guide you through this series; you can access the digital version by clicking the image to the left, or pick up a physical copy at the church this Sunday!

Help Us Get Ready for Vacation Bible School!
Vacation Bible School is next week, and we need your help!
Tomorrow - Saturday, June 13 | 10:00am
Meet at the Reid Street entrance as we decorate classroom doors, the Preschool entrance, and The Well. All decorating supplies will be ready to go, and it should only take about two hours of your time.

Join us in Casper Holroyd Hall as we prepare the gym for VBS. We'll work together as a church family to remove the floor covering, pickup chairs, and decorate the main stage.

As part of our ongoing work to live more fully into our mission and vision as a church, we invite you to complete our 2025–2026 Ministry Feedback Survey.
Our vision is to become fully alive as followers of Jesus Christ, and we seek to do this by choosing Christ, Community, and Compassion in all aspects of our life together. This survey is one way we can listen well, reflect honestly, and continue growing together as a congregation.
The survey includes questions about worship, adult spiritual formation, children’s and youth ministries, Wednesday night programming, outreach and fellowship, support, and accessibility. A separate survey related to our broader mission, vision, and values work will be shared later this fall.
Your feedback will help guide planning and priorities for the coming year, and we are grateful for your time and participation. Please complete the survey by June 19!

We're pleased to announce this year’s HBUMC Outreach and UMW Humble Heart Bazaar grant recipients. Outreach grants are funded through the general budget and Humble Hearts Bazaar grants are funded through the proceeds from the 2025 Bazaar. Thanks to the generous support of this congregation, $183,150 went out into our community this year to support a wide variety of needs including food security, affordable housing, early childhood education, job training, healthcare, refugee support, and women’s empowerment.
We give thanks for our outstanding nonprofit partners and for the many ways that God is moving throughout our community. If you are interested in getting involved with one of the organizations listed below, please reach out to Jason Trice.

Help Our VBS Kids Build a Diaper Mountain!
We're be collecting diapers for Diaper Train as part of our VBS theme: Snow Ball Mountain! Throughout the week, children will work together to build a “mountain” of diapers as we learn about serving others and meeting needs in our community.
As part of this experience, our 5th graders will take a field trip to Diaper Train to learn more about the organization and help sort diapers for families in need.
If you'd like to help our kids build their diaper mountain, drop off diapers in The Well by Thursday, June 18. Needed sizes: 4, 5, 6, and pull-ups.
Thank you for helping us turn a mountain of diapers into care for local families!

We do not want to be beginners at prayer, but let us be convinced of the fact that we will never be anything but beginners, all our life!
