What happens when God gives us a dream the world refuses to believe? Will we remain faithful--or allow other voices to talk us out of it? Join us this Sunday as we continue our sermon series, Power and Passion: Six Characters in Search of Resurrection. Traditional worship is held in the sanctuary at 8:30 (includes communion) and 11, and contemporary LightHouse worship starts at 9 in Casper Holroyd Hall.

Join us for dinner this Wednesday, March 18 from 5-6:30pm. This week dinner will be breakfast for dinner: scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cheesy grits, breakfast potatoes and waffles. Click here to RSVP.

Join us on Sunday, March 15th for the 35th Annual Seekers’ Class Chicken Dinner fundraiser, supporting food insecurity programs in our area. Take out or dine in from 10:00am-12:45pm.

Adult plate $12: Savory grilled BBQ chicken, Seekers’ recipe brown rice, green beans, yeast roll, homemade pound cake, and beverage.

Child’s plate $8: Chicken leg, macaroni and cheese, fruit, pound cake, and a beverage.

Join the Lighthouse Band in Casper Holroyd Hall for an evening contemporary worship experience for all ages. Childcare will be provided. Come dressed casually and ready to worship! Youth will still gather for dinner and games in the Fellowship Hall from 5:00-6:00 pm, and then walk over together for the worship time from 6:00-7:00 pm.

The United Methodist Women invite you to a special March Mission Study honoring the life and legacy of Jo Anna McMillan, Monday, March 16 from 6-8pm. Our guest speaker will be Maggie Kane, founder and executive director of A Place at the Table, who will share the story behind Raleigh’s pay-what-you-can café and its impact on food insecurity, dignity, and community connection.

Dinner will be provided by A Place at the Table, giving us the opportunity to experience this mission firsthand. Please RSVP here so we can plan accordingly.

Join us on March 17 from 6:30-8pm for the March UMM meeting, where we’ll hear from our own John Cates about the America 250 Oak City Tree Campaign, an important initiative in Raleigh. Click here to register.

Join the UMM for an Angus Barn Fundraiser Dinner on Wednesday, March 25 from 5:00-6:30pm. This annual fundraiser supports the Methodist Home for Children in honor of Patrick White. Choose from an Angus Barn hamburger or a hotdog, with Chick-fil-A chips and cookie. Thank you to Jill and Michael Highsmith for donating the hamburgers, and Dave Butts for the chips, cookies, and drinks. Donations will be collected at the door, but please RSVP and make your meal selection by Monday, March 23.

Three years ago, our HBUMC Creation Care Team began adding native plants to a small bed by the courtyard patio. Each year since, we’ve made additions and improvements for the enjoyment and benefit of our church members and our native wildlife “neighbors.” The garden is a lovely place to sit in the presence of God and God’s creation. The plants help sustain our native pollinator populations (birds, butterflies, bees), and the ecosystems they need to survive. In return, these systems provide us with oxygen, clean water, flood control, pollination, pest control, food, and beauty— the things we need to survive! By being good neighbors with nature, we participate in God’s gift of life and the interconnectedness of all creation.

Would you like to join us in these efforts? Contact Bobbi Mullins for more information.

Help add to the beauty of our church during Easter by purchasing Easter Lilies! Sign up online and pay via check or our online payment option. Deadline to purchase is March 30. Click here to sign up!
