Opportunities to Serve

Families Forward Charlotte Essential Baskets Drive Extended to March 3

Sardis family, we need your help making an impact with our mission partners! We still need MANY items to help fill our goal of 20 essential baskets. These baskets of spring cleaning items make a huge impact in the lives of local families in the Families Success program by helping them focus their expenses on food, transportation, and rent. Please consider purchasing a few items from our Amazon or Walmart wish lists (each list has different items that we need) and bring them to church by this Sunday, March 3. Our WAM children will pack all of the baskets with the needed items during their family service night this Sunday, so we are hoping to get all the items we need to make each basket complete!

  1. Amazon Wish List: Click here to shop on Amazon, have the items delivered to your home, and drop them off in the Mission Corner of the Gathering Place any time in February. If you need assistance with transporting items, please contact Vicky Hovis
  2. Walmart Shopping List: Purchase items from Walmart and drop them off in the Mission Corner of the Gathering Place any time in February.
  3. Financial Gifts: Click here to give online or you may write a check to Sardis Presbyterian Church with Essential Baskets in the memo line.

Sardis Provides Books For Summer Reading

March 1st kicks off our A Book of My Own Drive which provides Rama students with books to continue developing their reading skills over the summer. Rama literary teachers choose appropriate titles for each grade level that will peak the students’ interest. How many books each child chooses depends on our what we donate. Please help by giving whatever you can.

$5 still provides a book for a child and $100 will provide a book for each student in a classroom. Your support is what makes this wonderful program work!

Be A Welcoming Face in the Nursery

Nursery Volunteers are needed! While we have SitterTree covering care in our nursery, it is still very important and needed to have Sardis members volunteer to assist them in the nursery while offering a familiar face and helping provide visitors with a warm welcome and helpful information. We hope you'll look at your calendar and visit our SignUpGenius to sign-up for any dates and times you can give to be a welcoming face in the nursery. Questions or need assistance signing up? Contact Amanda Hooks (704.787.5353).
