Fall Sardis Serves Together: Food Drive Begins This Sunday!

As part of our CROP Walk activities, we will be hosting a Food Drive for Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays from October 22 - November 12 (the day of the CROP Walk). We will be collecting priority need items. Donations can be dropped off on the blue shelves in the Missions Corner of the Gathering Place or by utilizing one of our drive-thru drop off days on November 1 or November 8 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Volunteers to assist with food collections are welcome! Contact Jewell Leslie.

Notable Fact: Loaves & Fishes has spent nearly $730,000 on food this year...last year, $250,000! Inflation on food, housing crisis and government assistance programs that are coming to an end have had a huge impact on our community in terms of food security.

We will learn about significance the historic slave burial grounds on our campus has to our church, the city of Charlotte, and our new partnership with Grier Heights and Ben Salem Presbyterian Churches. RSVP here by October 22.

Pledge Online

Over the past several weeks we have had the opportunity to hear from several members of our Sardis family about the impact Sardis has had on their lives. We have seen the impact Sardis has had on the younger members of our congregation through their participation in WAM, SMASH, Bible School, and others. Every Sunday our worship experience is enhanced by the talented musicians, singers, bell ringers, technical team. Our Missions Ministry extends from down the street at Rama Road Elementary School to Kenya, Haiti and beyond. The ways Sardis makes an impact are numerous and with your support we will continue Exploring Faith and Changing Lives in our community and globally.

The 2024 Stewardship Campaign will be ending soon but, the difficult task of building the 2024 Budget is beginning. Our budget is developed based on the commitments received during the Stewardship Campaign, so it is important to have as many pledges returned as possible.

If you have not submitted your 2024 pledge, please consider doing it now. If you have misplaced the card that was mailed to you, additional ones are in the pews, on the welcome tables or you can complete the form online. We do need a pledge card even if you just want to renew your automatic draft.

You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’ And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” (2 Corinthians 9:7-8 NLT)
