Fall Food & Clothing Drive

Our fall food and clothing drive will begin this Sunday, September 25. We will be collecting the most needed items for Loaves & Fishes/ Friendship Trays and Crisis Assistance Ministry through October 9. To view the full list of collection items, click here. Donations can be placed in the bins in the Education Hall. There will also be two drive-thru drop-off opportunities on September 28 and October 5 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. under the Sanctuary covered drive.

Please remember, we cannot accept glass jars for the food drive. Also, clothing donations should be seasonally appropriate, clean, removed from hangers, and folded in bags.

In Luke 3:11, John tells a crowd, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same”. Thank you for helping our neighbors in our community.

Opportunities to Serve

The Sardis Bus Ministry Needs Drivers - No Special License Required

Become a Sardis bus driver and make a big impact in the life of our church! Sardis bus drivers mostly help on Sunday morning with picking up and dropping off members who live at Matthews Glen, but can also help with other ministries like Room In The Inn, youth, and other needs! You do not need a special license to drive a Sardis bus. Just attend our bus driver training session on Sunday, October 9 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sardis Parking Lot. Call or text John Carriker at 704.650.4884 if you can attend or have any questions.

9:00 Worship AV Volunteer Sign-ups Open

We are looking for volunteers to join the AV and tech team for our 9:00 Contemporary Worship service. We need one volunteer each Sunday to help advance slides and assist with other easy AV and tech support tasks. Our Technical Arts Coordinator, John Nipe, will provide instructions and training. Calling All Homework Helpers

It’s that time of year! Kids are returning to school providing us with an opportunity to work with teachers and students at Rama Road Elementary School. Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, from 2:30 to 4:00. You can help a first or second grader improve their reading, literacy and math skills — and have fun doing it. If you are wondering if we really make a difference...last year two of our students received End-Of-Year awards from their teachers for the improvements they made. The school attributed their success to our Homework Helpers. If you’d like to learn more or you’d like to volunteer, let Pam Stirling know.

Volunteer in the Nursery

Starting September 11, the nursery will be open for both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services and we need your help to keep it running smoothly! We're so excited that we'll be in a brand new location, the former Resource Room next to the Adult Library, and hope that you'll check it out! Sign up to volunteer here! Contact Sarah Dianne Jones with any questions.
