- March   2019 -

Dear Friends,

Have you ever wished for a FREE resource to help with board member training?  Well, wish no more!  Leadership Harrisburg Area has just released a brand new program, Board StrongBoard Strong was made possible through a partnership with The Foundation for Enhancing Communities and support from Orrstown Bank and Final Focus Productions.

Board Strong is a video series for non profit/community board members; those considering non profit board service; and veteran board members who wish to grow in their roles.  Board Strong provides insights and expert advice from seasoned industry professionals and is designed to promote effective board service and non profit excellence.  There are 5 components:
  1. Compliance Strong features Diane Edelstein of Maher Duessel and addresses the financial oversight, fiduciary and compliance responsibilities of board members.
  2. Fundraising Strong features Chad Barger of Productive Fundraising and addresses board members' role in fundraising.
  3. Serving Strong features Tina Nixon of UPMC Pinnacle and addresses the roles & responsibilities of board members and executive staff.
  4. Story Strong features Stuart Landon of Open Stage and provides tips for board member to effectively tell the organization's story.

Individuals who view the Board Strong video series and respond to a few questions can earn the Board Strong Certification from Leadership Harrisburg Area.  The Board Strong Certification will show non profit organizations that you are knowledgeable about the roles & responsibilities of being a board member; that you take board membership seriously; and that you would be a great asset to their team.  Board Strong Certification is a great addition to your community service resume, biography, and LinkedIn profile.  Leadership Harrisburg Area offers a Board Strong Certification for non profit organizations too.  Click on the link below to access the video and download the support materials and full information.

I couldn't be happier to say that Leadership Harrisburg Area's board of directors was the first organization to earn the Board Strong Certification!  #LHAisBoardStrong!
