The Capital Area Greenbelt Association is looking for someone with an energetic and philanthropic personality to chair the newly created Volunteer Committee . The Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA) in Grantville is growing its board of directors. Since 1985 CATRA has offered an opportunity for Capital Area residents from all generations with all types of special and typical needs to establish an atmosphere of support, respect, and health in an equestrian farm environment. Make a difference in the lives of Central PA teens!  Medard's House is a youth-focused non-profit after school program that helps teens by providing a safe space for mentoring, a hot meal after school, organized physical activity, homework help and spiritual growth. In fall of 2019 we will launch two new programs in partnership with local school districts and community partners: (1) supporting students who want to go to college with resources to do academic research and direction to find scholarships and additional monies to help lower costs (2) a program collaborating with businesses who emphasize the trades, creating apprenticeship opportunities for teens who are unsure of their path after graduation.  

Needed now - A person with a professional finance background to join the Board and Chair the Finance Committee.   The role of the Finance Committee is primarily to provide financial oversight for the organization including: budgeting, financial planning, financial reporting/monitoring, and developing internal controls and accountability policies.

This 90 minute video series addresses: the roles & responsibilities of non-profit board members; the financial oversight, fiduciary and compliance responsibilities of non-profit board members; non-profit board members’ role in fundraising; tips for non-profit board member to effectively tell the organization’s story; and tips for engaging high performing board. Anyone who is considering serving on a non-profit board; or who is already serving on a non-profit board will gain valuable insights from the experienced non-profit leaders featured in this video.
