MANY THANKS TO PSECU FOR SPONSORSHIP OF THE COMMUNITY CALLER! | | |
Dear Friends,
I’m happy to introduce Beck Moore, CEO of Community Action Association of Pennsylvania, with opening remarks for this month’s edition of The Community Caller.
“One lesson I keep being reminded of is how much weight our words carry. A single sentence. A passing comment. A phrase we barely remember saying. Years later, someone will come up to me after a presentation and say, “You said this… and I never forgot it.” And I’m always struck by how something small to me became something meaningful to them.
That’s when the privilege of leadership really hits me.
Whether we intend it or not, our words land. They shape confidence. They linger in moments of doubt. They can affirm or quietly unravel someone’s sense of belonging. And if I’m honest, that awareness also comes with humility. I think about the times I wasn’t my best. The moments when my words may have landed heavier than I realized. So, as I think about the leader I’m continuing to become, I’m trying to be more intentional. More thoughtful. More aware of how language impacts the people around me.
Leadership isn’t just about the decisions we make. It’s about the words we choose along the way. Because long after the meeting ends or the presentation fades, those words might still be echoing for someone else.”
I couldn’t agree more, Beck! Thank you so much.
And thank you to our friends at PSECU for sponsorship of The Community Caller. Please review all of the opportunities to make meaningful connections and support the needs of our communities listed below. Leadership Harrisburg Area is so honored to be at the hub of this exchange and happy to see it grow. Feel free to share this publication with family, friends, and team members!
All the best…

Stoney Brook: An Unauthorized Parody Comedy
Now - March 7, 2026 | Open Stage | Various Showtimes
The girls are all grown up. The friendships? Complicated. The snacks? Still hidden in Claud’s bedroom. The most iconic babysitting crew of the '90s is reuniting, but this isn’t the cozy catch-up they might have hoped for. One of their own has died, and now old friendships, buried secrets, and suburban traumas are crashing to the surface—fast. Part throwback, part emotional rollercoaster, Stoney Brook is a no-holds-barred parody of THOSE books and a comedy about growing up, growing apart, and what happens when the kids who held it all together… fall apart. Expect big laughs, big feelings, and maybe even some snacks. Hilarious. Heartfelt. And just a little unhinged. A world premiere from Open Stage you won’t want to miss. They’re not babysitting anymore. But someone still has to clean up the mess. (Click the Graphic for Details)
