Our vision is to have a community where no kittens are born wild on the street, no cat  capable of living in a home is lacking one, and no feral cats are wanting for food, water,  and appropriate care and concern.

Campus Cat Congregation meets to talk community cats

College campuses are often a hot spot for community cats that roam freely without a home. Ensuring these cats are fixed and fed is the Campus Cat Congregation, a loosely organized group of people who manage TNR organizations on college campuses in San Antonio. This group consists of of individuals from Trinity University, St. Mary's University, UTSA, San Antonio College and Palo Alto College.

The congregation met at Trinity University on July 20 to discuss topics relating to community cats on campus such as the presence of coyotes and other wildlife, fundraising opportunities, and the value of formalizing campus cat groups into 501(c)3 organizations. These groups have done great work individually and by combining their efforts, everyone will benefit!

Thank you for joining us for Willie's Grill & Icehouse Spirit Night

Thank you so much to those that stopped by all three Willie's Grill and Icehouse locations for our Spirit Night fundraiser this month! Pictured here are some of our helpline volunteers, enjoying a well-deserved fun dinner! Check out what we raised at each location:

Willie's Hwy 151 - $5.24

                                                                        Willie's Zarzamora - $62.45

                                                                        Willie's San Pedro - $111.29

                                                                                              Total - $178.98

This month, we more than doubled our fundraising efforts from our last Willie's fundraiser! This fundraiser benefited our Feral Food Program which provides cat food to colony caretakers who would otherwise not be able to afford to feed their colonies on their own. Stay tuned for details on our next Spirit Night at Willie's. If you weren't able to visit Willie's during Spirit Night but you'd still like to support this program, please consider a food donation via our Amazon Wishlist or donate directly HERE to provide food.

Thank you for giving to our CCAP fundraiser

Thanks to you, our wonderful supporters, our Community Cat Adoption Program was able to raise $4,030 from their recent fundraiser to support the surgery and medical needs for the foster cats in our care.  Stay tuned for updates on some of the cats we were able to help, thanks to your generosity!

Our Community Cat Adoption Program is an all-volunteer team that takes friendly cats and kittens off the streets and places them in forever homes. Their efforts are supported through donations only. If you'd like to support their efforts, please click HERE to donate.

Local coffee company features community cat

Some time ago, SAFCC received a donation from local coffee roasters, What's Brewing who had held a fundraiser to support our organization. After inquiring, we found out the story behind the donation. Three years ago a black cat  wandered into What's Brewing's warehouse parking lot and made herself at home. Thanks to a SAFCC volunteer, the cat--now named Midnight-- was trapped and spayed. Midnight was such a friendly feral that she immediately became their warehouse cat.

The cat-loving owners and staff at What's Brewing now feature Midnight as their warehouse mascot and use her image on their coffee mugs to raise funds for SAFCC! What's Brewing donates the profits from the mugs to our organization and encourages everyone to grab a coffee and meet this friendly young lady. Thank you to Sami, Anthony, Chris and all the staff at What's Brewing for their support and commitment to outdoor cats! She greets all the customers and is a huge draw for this very cat-friendly establishment.

SAFCC Cat of the Month: Meredith

This sweet cat is Meredith, a young adult female who has been in foster care since early May. Meredith was brought into foster care by a trapper, along with a litter of younger siblings. Her siblings have all been adopted which leaves only Meredith to find her forever home.

Meredith is a very pretty and mostly white cat with some colored patches and gorgeous orange eyes. She loves to play and be petted and is very friendly. With the proper introduction, she should get along with other cats. She does not do well with dogs. If you are interested in meeting Meredith or want more information, please contact her foster mom Leah at leahbelanger2012@gmail.com
