From Community Partnership on Aging

The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to rethink our personal security on many levels. We took action to protect ourselves and our families. But what about those who are less fortunate? What about those who do not have the resources? What about those who don’t have a family? Who will protect them?

In 2020, Community Partnership on Aging meal usage by older adults increased 366%, signaling a need and desire for healthy, affordable, and safe meal options for older adults. Additionally, this challenged us to think: COULD we serve more? ARE we serving every older adult that we can? How can our meals help those who might fall through the cracks?

As we began our research and started talking about a plan, the Heights-Hillcrest Regional Chamber of Commerce reached out to us to help. Recognizing that “healthy communities mean healthy businesses,” HRCC stepped up to partner with CPA for a fundraising campaign, aptly titled, Step Up to the Plate. The Step Up to the Plate Campaign aims to help CPA provide additional meals for the older adults of the cities we serve Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, Mayfield Heights, Mayfield Village, Richmond Heights, and South Euclid.  Every donation is 100% tax-deductible.
