“Local redistricting is controversial, I don’t care which way you look at it.
"Gwinnett County is upset. Cobb County is upset. Fulton County is upset….This is a contentious part of politics, and, hopefully, we let the voice of the people be heard.” – GA House Rep. Mesha Mainor, Dist. 56

“The smear campaign against Rep. Mainor must stop. The political terrorist tactics against Commissioner Khadijah must stop. It is unconscionable that elected officials would pick hyper-partisanship to disenfranchise communities. These communities have been together, they know each other, they live for each other. Drawing a line down the middle of the street, where one Commissioner is on one side, and another Commissioner is on the other side is not only illegal – it is unconscionable.
“To have this Commissioner[Khadijah] be forced to run against another Commissioner – just to keep her honor, integrity, and respect intact – that is unconscionable….
“This process that is currently being used, cuts her [Comm. Khadijah] out of the process, cuts the neighborhood leaders out of the process, cuts the community leaders out of the process, cuts the faith leaders out of the process, cuts the small business leaders out of the process.
"That’s not democracy – that’s tyranny.” – Al Bartell

“I stand here today representing 200,000 voters who have been disenfranchised. If we go by the 2010 Census, we are breaking the law. We must go by the 2020 Census map….so we won’t be facing a federal lawsuit over civil rights violations. That’s what this is all about. I stand here today together with Rep. Mainor and community members from one end of Fulton County to the other, to say, “Let’s be fair. Make the process fair.”
– Fulton County Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman
Dist. 6, South Fulton
