IMPACT in the Community
Last October, we launched a pilot program, IMPACT (Integrated Model of Police And Crisis Teams), with the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office to embed a clinician with law enforcement officer for mental health-related calls.

Over the last few months IMPACT has caught the attention of other agencies including Arlington PD, Lake Stevens PD and Marysville PD. An initiative by Chief Scairpon adds much-needed mental health expertise to the public safety team. Compass Health is proud to partner with these community leaders to make a difference with the IMPACT program! You can read the full article in the Everett Herald.
K-LOVE: Clinicians Respond with Officers to Mental Health Calls
Compass Health’s IMPACT Program Manager Marla Johns joined radio station K-LOVE to discuss the significance of the program. Marla shared that IMPACT goes beyond assisting individuals in crisis: “The relief that comes over that family’s face and just knowing that, okay, were making the next step, we’re going to get somewhere. It’s a pretty amazing feeling.” She says that in her 25 years of work, IMPACT is by far the most important thing she’s accomplished. You can read the full article here and listen to the full interview here.
North Count Outlook: Mental Health Support with Local Police
IMPACT’s partnership with Marysville, Arlington and Lake Stevens police departments was also featured in the North County Outlook. In the article, Marysville police commander Wendy Wade shared, “Once you bring in Compass Health, that opens a whole different set of resources for people who are in crisis.” You can read the full article in the North County Outlook here.
