IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING OUR BUILDING COMMUNITIES OF HOPE GALA, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 16
Compass Health is excited to host our Building Communities of Hope Gala virtually this year.

Hosting our event online will help ensure the safety and health of our participants and attendees, in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its impact throughout our communities.

While we might not be able to meet in person, we are still eagerly preparing for a night of celebration and support for our child, youth, and family behavioral health programs.

Attendees that RSVP by Friday, October 15, will be eligible for drawings and a variety of prizes during the live event.
MEET OUR GALA KEYNOTE SPEAKER: DR. DELANEY RUSTON
The Gift of Sharing Our Truths: Why giving voice to our youths’ struggles is essential.
The talk, which includes Ruston’s own personal story, will explore why being open about youth mental health challenges has been so taboo, how overcoming this taboo is key for scaling up needed support, and how giving voice to the struggle that youths face will benefit them in life-changing ways.

About Dr. Ruston
Delaney Ruston is a filmmaker, Stanford trained physician, and an international speaker who makes documentaries to foster social change. She is the creator of two award-winning films, Screenagers, about solutions for healthy screen time, and Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER, about improving the emotional wellbeing of today’s youth. Thus far, 4.5 million kids and adults have gathered for film screenings in 85 countries.
WELCOME TO ANDY'S PLACE!
We're excited to unveil Andy's Place as the official name of our new supportive housing building!

With a significant gift from the Martyn Family Foundation, the name Andy’s Place honors Andrew “Andy” Martyn, a member of the Martyn family who struggled with homelessness, drug dependency and bipolar disorder before dying of heart failure in 2016 at the age of 48.

“We are incredibly grateful for the Martyn Family Foundation for this generous gift, which allows Compass Health to provide hope and recovery for individuals who share Andy’s challenges,” said Tom Sebastian, Compass Health president and CEO. “The Martyn family has experienced unthinkable tragedy in losing Andy, but we’re so thankful they are helping us make an impact for other community members and their families.”
FOSTERING DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND BELONGING
Last summer, Compass Health embarked on a new relationship with Dr. Kimberly Harden and Harden Consulting Group to support us with our diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategies.

Since the formation of our partnership last year, Dr. Harden has met with groups of team members for listening sessions to capture their perspectives, ideas and experiences at Compass Health. She has also provided our organization and leadership with a strategic three-year engagement plan to foster DEIB-forward systems and culture, focusing on eight pillars of engagement.

We are excited about the direction we are moving as an agency and look forward to giving you more updates along the way.
