Act Now Anti-Bullying Grant at WMS
We realize that bullying is a serious issue that affects thousands of students each day and we're aware these students are at greater risk for poor school adjustment, sleep difficulties, anxiety, and depression. Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is committed to keeping kids healthy and safe, both at home and at school and therefore, created Act Now!, a continuum of bullying prevention e-learning courses designed for k-12th grade students, school staff, and parents.

WMS applied for and was awarded a $1,500 Act Now! Grant in 2019. The pandemic delayed us in using this grant during the 2019-2020 school year. This year we have used the grant money to provide virtual speakers / presenters for our students and parents regarding bullying and the dangers of social media and sexting. These e-learning courses were developed in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. We recently completed our staff training and are now looking to begin the e-learning modules in the next week with students at each of our grade levels during their Connect time.

Arrival and Dismissal Mask Reminder
We request that anyone dropping off or picking up students continue to wear a face covering when on school grounds and around others. While there isn’t a policy that masks should be worn during this time we are asking that you would help us with this safety routine and consider wearing a mask as you are coming out of your vehicle to drop off or meet your child. We also ask that everyone continue to practice physical distancing when conversing with other parents at arrival and dismissal. We greatly appreciate your partnership with this health and safety issue. We want to keep our school a safe and healthy place to learn.
