Mask Donations
The district will be providing a mask for every student and staff member. But we can never be too prepared! If you or someone you know is interested in donating masks, we welcome the donation! You can email reopen2020@whitnall.com. Thank you!
New Learning Management System | Canvas
Starting in the fall of 20-21, Whitnall will begin using Canvas, a Learning Management System (LMS), to provide access to instructional resources and digital content. Canvas includes the functions of Google Classroom but with enhanced features for content delivery, feedback, and communication in an intuitive and easy-to-navigate platform. Teachers are currently working through Canvas training to prepare for the new year and to teach students how to navigate the new LMS.

Parent “observers” will be able to log in to one account and view all of their students' course content, assignments, and progress. More information will be coming after school begins, as students will need an opportunity to access Canvas before parent observers can connect to their accounts.
Substitute Teachers Needed
We anticipate shortages in substitute teachers this year. To help fill our needs, if you hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, you can receive a three-year short-term substitute license by completing a state-approved educator preparation program. If you are obtaining your substitute license for the first time, we will reimburse your license cost of $125 after you substitute with the district for the first time during the 2020-2021 school year.

CESA 2 offers an online, self-paced course for only $150! Learn more at https://www.cesa2.org/programs/subtraining/.

CESA 1 hosts periodic training sessions and continues to add more courses and will meet the needs of any district. Click here to learn more details including how to register!

Once you obtain your license, apply with Teachers on Call. If you have questions, please email Karen Gonzalez, Human Resources Manager, at kgonzalez@whitnall.com
