Due to the government shutdown, Whitnall families receiving food assistance will be impacted. Please read this article for an explanation.

HCL Workshop
The Hales Corners Library is hosting a No School Workshop – Volcano Lab on Monday 1/21/2019 from 2 to 3:30 PM. This is a drop in program, no registration required. Details in the attached flyer .
Two-Way Communication Focus Group
On January 21 at 6:30 PM, the district will be holding a focus group related to two-way communication (one of our district goals). While you can review district goal #6 , essentially, we are looking for input on developing a platform where stakeholders can easily ask questions, participate in district info or opinion gathering, and share information. We are excited about creating a space where our stakeholders can initiate the conversations! Sign up here!

8th Grade Open House and Transition Night
January 24 at 5:30 PM is the 8th Grade Open House and Transition Night at the high school. Learn about the course pathways for college and careers. Attendance at this event is highly encouraged.
DECA Night at Girls Basketball
Your Whitnall DECA student organization is proud to present the first annual DECA Night at Girls Basketball! We are inviting all Whitnall students, parents, staff, and community members to come and enjoy this year’s exciting girls basketball team in a showdown with Greendale on Tuesday, January 22. The event will include a sale on Whitnall spiritwear and special fundraising for Make-A-Wish-Wisconsin. The theme for the night is “blackout,” so wear black clothing and join the fun! Go Falcons!
AP Exam Registration
Registration for AP Exams is now open through March 21. Follow this link to get to the registration form.

Booster Club Updates
Basketball Families: Do you have your WFBC Membership? Did you know that the cost of an All Inclusive Family Membership is only $60 & INCLUDES ENTRANCE TO ALL VARSITY HOME GAMES! You can sign up for your WFBC Membership quickly on our website at whitnallfalconbootsterclub.org You will get your Membership card delivered to your home very quickly! Stop losing out and get your membership card and start saving money while supporting the WFBC and helping us fulfill our mission of supporting ALL Students at WHS.

JUNIOR PARENTS: We need your help to make this year's post prom a success! We are looking for some planning to make post prom a fun and safe place that the students WANT to come to! Jenny Carney is the lead on this and can be contacted at jcarney72@gmail.com if you are interested in helping out with this event.

Save the date: April 27th is our 2nd annual Casino Night which will be held at Root River Banquet Hall! This is a great night that you won't want to miss! Ticket information coming soon! Mark your calendars!

Meeting Information: Our next meeting is February 4th at WHS in the Library at 7 PM. This is a meeting to mark on your calendar as we will be having a Meet and Greet with our 5 candidates for the School Board prior to the February 19th primary election. Please make sure you come out & meet the candidates!

7th Grade Youth Frontiers
Tuesday, January 29, all 7th graders will be participating in a leadership summit that is supported by Youth Frontiers. Information and permission slips have been shared and sent home. If there are any questions, contact one of our 7th grade teachers!
Electives Showcase
Thursday, January 31 from 6 - 7:30 PM, all WMS electives teachers will be in the building to share all of the amazing opportunities that students at WMS have during the three year middle school experience! Everything starts at 6 PM in the cafeteria, but feel free to stop in anytime! This is open to all current WMS families and to our incoming students/families! Check out the flyer!
8th Grade Open House and Transition Night
On January 24, WMS along with WHS will be holding a transition evening from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at Whitnall High School. Please meet in the auditorium. All current 8th grade students and families are encouraged to attend! This is a great opportunity to ask questions and even build a freshman year schedule!
Track and Field Coaches Needed
WMS is looking for coache s for the track and field program. Anyone interested should contact Dave Pentek , Athletic/Activities Director.

Kid's Heart Challenge (Formerly Jump Rope for Heart)
Edgerton will kick off the Kid’s Heart Challenge on Thursday, January 24. An email was sent home with information about some pre-kickoff challenges. Click here for Edgerton’s school site. You can sign up your child and read more about the program.
9th Slice Pizza Fundraiser

Cub Scout Service Project
Edgerton’s Cub Scout Pack 574 is sponsoring a shoe drive for the Soles4Souls Foundation. Soles4Souls creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world. Their vision is to disrupt the cycle of poverty. From January 2 - February 1, please consider participating in this program. Bring your gently used shoes of any kind to Edgerton’s school lobby. There will be labeled bins to collect the shoes. Coffee with the Principal
Edgerton parents are invited to join Mr. D’Acquisto for coffee and discussion about Edgerton current events on Thursday, January 24 at 8:45 AM in the EES conference room. This is a great time to ask any questions you may have.

Construction Update
The walls are rising as the masons are working daily. Don’t forget that parents can submit questions for our weekly “Ask the Builder” series. They can be dropped off at HCE or sent in with your child.  
Third Grade Family Engagement
Third grade students and their families are invited to the Third Grade Family Engagement event from 4:30 - 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 23. The event will be held in the small gym.
