Substitute Training
Do you know of anyone who would like to become a substitute teacher? The district is anticipating shortages in substitute teachers this school year and we can help!

If you hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university you can obtain a three-year short-term substitute license by completing a state-approved educator preparation program. If you are obtaining your substitute license for the first time, the district will reimburse your license cost of $125 after you substitute for the district for the first time during the 2020-2021 school year. To get started, check out these great resources...

CESA 2 offers an online, self-paced course for only $150. Learn more at: https://www.cesa2.org/programs/subtraining/.

CESA 1 hosts periodic training sessions, continues to add more courses, and will meet the needs of any district. Click here for two upcoming CESA 1 classes.

Once you obtain your license, complete the application process with Teachers on Call. If you have questions, please email Karen Gonzalez, Human Resources Manager, at [email protected].

Whitnall Community Comes Through Again!
This year’s Whitnall DECA Food Drive for the Hunger Task Force was forced to go virtual but that did not stop the Whitnall community from raising a total of $6,580.50 for the Hunger Task Force. It is hard to estimate the exact number of families we have helped but this total as well as the nearly 400,000 pounds of food our community has donated since 2004 has had a huge impact on the hunger problems in our community.

Thank you all for your kindness and generosity. Whitnall is truly all in!

Please take a moment to complete a short survey regarding next year’s food drive. The survey can be found at this link.

Student Safety
Parents/guardians are parking in posted no parking zones when dropping off and picking up their students. On Janesville Road, there is no parking from 112th Street to the exit of our parking lot. If you are parking on Godsell Avenue or a side street, your child should only be crossing by the crossing guard. Crossing mid street or between buses has been observed. A few extra steps to the crossing guard is the safest route. Your actions can model safe behavior for your child.
