Destination Imagination

This is a NEW extracurricular opportunity for Whitnall students who need an outlet for creativity, leadership, and performing arts! EES, HCE, and WMS will each have one team of 5-7 students. Both elementary teams will consist of fourth and fifth grade students, while the WMS team will be available to sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. Here are some videos to give you an idea what D.I. is all about: Video 1 / Video 2 / Video 3 . The season ends with a regional tournament at Muskego High School on Saturday, March 14th. Information meetings for potentially interested students will be held at each school as follows:

  • WMS: Monday, November 11th, from 3:00 - 4:00 in Room 250 with Ms. Seiter
  • HCE: Tuesday, November 14th, from 3:45 - 4:45 in Room 111 with Ms. Hekenberger
  • EES: Thursday, November 14th, from 3:45 - 4:45 in Room 113 with Mr. Williams

Little Falcon Dance Clinic
On December 20th, the dance team will be hosting a Little Falcon Dance Clinic - Holiday Clinic for children in grades K-5. The children will learn a routine and perform at the basketball game that night. Please see this link   to learn more about this event and access the registration information.
SAFER Choices
On Wednesday, November 13, in the WHS Auditorium, Mike Domitrz of the Center for Respect will be speaking to the student body in two groups - Senior/Junior classes and then Sophomore/Freshmen. This will be the first of two bi-annual presentations arranged and funded by the Whitnall Falcon Booster Club. This speaking engagement was also sponsored in part by agent Joe Krolikowski of American Family Insurance. Joe is a 1979 Whitnall grad and has been generous with both his time and money in helping make this program happen for our students.

The topic of next week's assembly is that of SAFER Choices . It is said to be one of the “most inclusive and sought-after school assemblies for taking a safe, age appropriate look at consent, respect in relationships, boundaries, bystander intervention, and working to reduce sexual assault.”  You, as parents, will receive an email next week both prior to and post the assembly going into further detail regarding content. This is meant to help you discuss (and encourage!) any questions that your student may have regarding this topic.

For a closer look at what the event is about, please click here to see an interview Mike gave on this timely and important topic last month on TMJ4.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences are November 14th from 4 - 8 PM in our East and West gyms. A couple of additions for the fall 2019 conferences are we will be having a food truck available for families from 3:45-7:45pm from Matty's in New Berlin. Please stay and use our cafeteria. Additionally, in our cafeteria, we will have some computers set up for students to log into and show parents/guardians their Learner Profiles that students have been updating throughout the current school year.

Snack Pantry
Next week, WMS will be starting a Snack Drive and we need your help. Research shows that students who have increased access to nutritious food are more attentive and perform better in class. Many WMS staff members currently spend their own money to provide snacks to students who are hungry throughout the day. By establishing a snack pantry at school, we can take this responsibility off of staff and help students to return focus to academics. Snacks collected will be available to all students in need, regardless of financial situation. For more information on the drive please see the link below.
