Important Immunization Information
The 30 th day of school is quickly approaching. This means the deadline to turn in immunization records or a waiver is on Tuesday October 16 th . If your child is noncompliant and is in K4-5 th ; your child will be excluded from school starting Wednesday October 17 th until compliance is met.

The second and final notice letters were sent home this week. If your child is at risk for exclusion, a notice of exclusion was included in this letter.

If your child will have an appointment to receive the immunizations past the 30th day of school deadline, you do have the option to sign a personal conviction waiver. Once the student record stating the immunization was received, the waiver would be removed. This would keep your child compliant and avoid exclusion from school.

If you choose to sign a waiver, please complete the dedicated area for waiving immunizations on the student immunization record form. A new waiver needs to be completed each school year. There are copies in your school’s health room if you need an additional copy.

The Immunization Law in Wisconsin was passed to protect all children from vaccine preventable diseases. The law requires public schools in school districts with less than a 99% compliance level to exclude noncompliant students in kindergarten through grade five. The law also applies to private schools. Private schools with less than a 99% compliance level are required to exclude noncompliant students in kindergarten through grade five. A noncompliant student is one who is "behind schedule" for a required immunization(s), or has no immunization record on file at the school and does not have a waiver on file.

The Whitnall School District’s compliance level was 98.06% which requires us to exclude those students who remain non-compliant on the 31 st day.

Please take the time to complete the waiver or turn in your record. Please reach out to Brea Sanders, District Nurse, or your school health room with any questions.
