It's hard to believe that it's the middle of October, but that's what my calendar says! This week, there were presentations to the board and to parents on our district's grading and reporting journey. Thank you to all of the parents who attended the meeting and joined us on Facebook Live. We truly appreciate and welcome the feedback so please continue to share your questions and concerns.

At the board workshop meeting on Monday evening, the board reviewed current career readiness data at Whitnall. As part of our district goals, we are building a data dashboard to illustrate district priorities by analyzing current data and trends in our data. A couple weeks ago, state testing data was released on the DPI website and state report cards will be released in November. We are currently working on organizing our student achievement data to analyze trends to both celebrate successes and identify areas in need of improvement.
On Tuesday this week, I stopped by Edgerton Elementary to participate in the
Pink Possible
event, which raises awareness and funds toward breast cancer research by putting pink extensions in participants' hair for the price of a donation. On Thursday, I was able to watch both our volleyball and football teams in action.
Please be sure to complete your facilities study survey. There are 10 days remaining to complete the survey and a strong participation rate will assist the district in making important decisions.
We currently have 398 parent surveys completed out of 2132 emailed out.

Throughout this week, teachers have begun the process of recommending students for Zero Hour support. Recommendations to counselors are made on the basis of one or more of the following: current grades (failing or struggling), missing assessments and/or make-up assessments.
Zero Hour will start on Tuesday, October 17th. Students assigned a Zero Hour are required to report to their assigned location noted on their schedule at 7 AM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week. Attendance is REQUIRED.
