Substitute Teachers
If you hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, you can obtain a three-year short-term substitute license by completing a state-approved educator preparation program. If you are obtaining your substitute license for the first time, the district will reimburse your license cost of $125 after you substitute for the district for the first time during the 2020-2021 school year. To get started, check out these great resources:

CESA 2 offers an online, self-paced course for only $150. Learn more at https://www.cesa2.org/programs/subtraining/.

CESA 1 hosts periodic training sessions, continues to add more courses, and will meet the needs of any district. Click here to learn more details including how to register.

Once you obtain your license, complete the application process with Teachers on Call. If you have questions, please email Karen Gonzalez, Human Resources Manager, at kgonzalez@whitnall.com.

Annual Whitnall DECA Food Drive Has Gone Virtual!
In an effort to promote the health and safety of our great community, this year's Whitnall DECA Food Drive for the Hunger Task Force will be held virtually. If you live in the Whitnall School District you should have received a flyer/letter promoting our annual event. The instructions refer you to a website where you can donate money for this great cause. You can also mail or drop off your donation at Whitnall High School.

The instruction letter can be found here.

The website for donation is here.

Thank you in advance for supporting us in our efforts to help feed the hungry. Since its inception in 2004, the Whitnall DECA Food Drive has collected over 300,000 pounds of food items! The Whitnall community is clearly “All In”!

Bullying Prevention Program Next Week
WMS students will participate in a  virtual presentation with Matt Wilhelm, a professional BMX rider and motivational speaker who will touch on a variety of topics including anti-bullying. Students and teachers recorded questions last week for Matt to be included and answered in his virtual presentation. This presentation was paid for through our Act Now - Anti-Bullying Grant we received through Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. This program also provides free educational modules and resources around bullying prevention that we hope to have students engage in throughout this year.
